My De filter finally gave out and it would cost too much for me to fix it when I can just replace it. I am looking at the best option, I'm thinking of either going back to DE or going with a cartridge-type filter but I am looking for the best recommendations. Any help is appreciated.

For your AGP get a medium to large sized cartridge filter. The largest filter that fits your equipment space and budget. You should need to clean it only once a year and not need to fool with DE.
