Need help with my return fitting!

Anybody successfully achieved proper water circulation with an Intex pump return fitting?

I can put my finger in and push to change the angle, but it only moves about 5 or 10 degrees in any direction. Still blowing basically straight forward and towards the middle of the pool. And no, the cap on the eye does not unscrew (third picture).

Do I need to replace the return fitting with one that can blow sideways and downwards? I NEED better circulation.

Any suggestions on a return fitting that blows sideways that's compatible with an Intex pump hole?

Coleman 22x52 vinyl pool, Intex sand filter.

I think that's fine, it should only move enough to break the surface of your water when facing up(when pool is filled). Looks right to me. I have the smaller 1.25 fitting with an no eyeball at all. It just shoots out straight forward to the middle of the pool.

Did you unscrew the outer ring that holds the eye on?
It's been a while but I think you can loosen and tighten it on those.
