Old thread Need equipment recommendations More detail from me and all the advice which I have taken is in the previous thread.
I am working my way through all the repairs on this new to me old house. I received this latest quote for new equipment.
Couple questions as I may not be reading this correctly.
1. It appears there are several automation, salt cell combinations listed here, am I seeing duplicate equipment? What was recommended and I think I want was the Intellicenter. My understanding is 521903 and there is also the 521906. I have pump, heater, sand filter, and 1 bubbler..
2. I don't need an indoor controller, my phone is fine.
I am assuming these are COVID/SUPPLY CHAIN prices going forward. I do not have any DIY expertise and will be having someone that can install and service do the work.
Meanwhile, I am contacting the supplier for the model numbers.
I may skip the new heater, it is working and is an old model, mechanical, not electronic. I have had more trouble with boards going out on a Hayward, and then a new Pentair, I am thinking about keeping the old. From the pictures on the original thread it doesn't look so good, but it does work.
Not sure if I should switch out the sand filter for a cartridge. I was originally but am undecided. It is not on this quote, it was a Clean & Clear 520. I can do the necessary backwashing but there is no way I can physically do a deep cleaning nor take big cartridge filters out to clean. So both of those tasks I would have to hire someone to do. With a big filter cartridge probably only once a year, with a sand filter I can do the backwash, but not sure of the timing of a deep clean. Not the Sand Filter is from Summer 2021.
Thanks for all the advice given so far, I alway appreciate learning more.
