My pump loses prime after being off for several hours. I have read about finding an air leak. My specific question is about the plumbing. My pool has a 1.5" PVC pipe that comes up out of the ground then turns back down toward the ground and connects to nothing. It is open and constantly sucks in air when the pump is running. What is this?
