My OB in Vegas!

Thank you!!! The alarms are required for which doors? If I have a screen porch, up a level from the pool, will it require an alarm?

**this is not the plan we went with, but it will give you an idea of the porch and steps **

This is a part of the text from my local pool code:

Exception 2: An alarm installed on all openings in dwelling unit that provide direct access to the pool or spa. Openings to include doors; operable windows with a sill height of forty-eight (48) inches or less; and pet doors allowing the passage of a sphere of four (4) inches (102 mm) in diameter

A pool builder told me that my windows that have a sill height of less than 48" are OK, as long as the lock/latch is higher than 48". I have three doors out the back of the house and one door on my garage that has access to the backyard also. I didn't think about the garage door until I was having a conversation with a co-worker who put a pool in last summer. She brought it up. I added it to my list.

Perfect! Thank you!

Wife can't think straight right now. Travertine is starting to go down.

This is the last tree. Funny, it was a mesquite on the plan. Looks like a silk tree to me. Her perogerative I guess. [emoji1]

Sheer descents were placed today. Need plumber out before Friday to connect. Crunch time if I want to stay on track. Wall should go back up on friday and we decided to add the gate on that side back into the plan. Hopefully they can install it on saturday. And we are dog sitting for our daughter. He loves to run up and down the stairs of the pool. Most importantly, he is learning to get out. It will be interesting to see if he remembers when it is full of water.

NICE progress! It is really starting to come together! LOL on the dog running up and down the stairs! A tired dog is a good dog!

When he is over and the pool is full just have someone drop him in the pool while someone else is at the stairs calling him with a towel ready to dry him off or a super yummy treat ready. He will learn in no time.

Looks fantastic!
Question, did the gas company charge you to upgrade the meter? I know I need mine done but not sure if the next steps, I just have the pipe under pressure on the side of the house next to the meter and the other end sitting by the heater. Also did they have to hook up the heater before switching out the gas meter

I am not aware of any charges from the gas company. I assumed they just want to sell me more gas and are happy to install a larger meter. I called the gas company and gave them the BTU of the heater and they came out in a couple of days. The new line was already connected to the heater and stubbed at the BBQ, fire pit and house. He installed the new meter and connected it to the new line. He then turned on the gas and made sure there were no leaks. It was easier than I thought it would be and glad I ran across someone post or I would have never known. If I remember correctly, once I passed my first inspection, the plumber came back out and connected the gas line to the heater.

Oh thanks, now that I see the smaller water line tiles, and they look great, I don't know if I want the 6x6's now!
I'M NEVER GOING TO GET MY POOL DONE!
We will be doing the skinnier stone pieces we really love that look.
But don't get me started on stone color....
AHHHHHHH!!!!!
btw, thank's for reminding me to call the gas company....

Pavers should wrap up tomorrow. Spa tile and coping tomorrow. Plaster guy coming in the morning to finalize the contract. It is my understanding that they clean the pool, supply and install the drain covers and return fittings including the spa jets. The plumber said to go with dark gray for all fittings if you are going midnight blue. We are going to talk about pebble and glass tomorrow. I like the smoothness idea of the glass but have never seen a pool with it. That worries/scares me.....

I just spoke to my plaster guy who also did IMAZ pool and he said not to go all glass because it doesn't adhere as long. He suggested that I stay with pebble and add some glass for the sparkle and if I want more to mix in some abalone shell.
Just thought I would share so you could add this to your research
