Hi, and thank you for your time in advance.
I will use this as my personal thread to document our pool renovation, as well ask questions as we progress.
Disclosure: I have a decent amount of pictures, and the entire project on time lapse. I will try to get to it all in due time, and post it for everyone's enjoyment...
We are located in NY

Where we were:
We purchased our home a few years back.. The pool was an added bonus, as the home owner did not know the current condition of the pool, so they did not advertise it as in working order.
Fast forward to last year, all the chemistry was figured out (thanks to My dad @wireform, and this wonderful forum). We had some good use over the last few years, and did a salt water conversion as well. Overall no complaints.

Due to years of neglect prior to us purchasing the home, and age of the plaster, the reno ideas started to form. We had tiles falling off the walls. Stained plaster and everything that goes with it. None the less, the family was happy to have what they never had before. But I knew what I ultimately wanted. Follow along for the ride.

This is what our pool looked like prior to our Paver project:

This is what it looks like now:

Time lapse of the entire project will be posted in the coming weeks / asap - As soon as i have a chance to try and see what it looks like.
============================================
At this time we are moving onto the next phase of our pool renovation. This is what we are working with and should have schedule shortly.
I am open to recommendations and advise on anything and everything.

Our Proposal:
Pool Interior: Diamond Brite: French Grey.
Tile : NPT Parallax Cyan. 1x2 ( Link to Tile )
Tile Trim for steps: Same as above
Lighting: 3 MicroBrites. (I have questions on this below)

Question Re: Lighting:
I am hearing mixed reviews on if we should go for MicroBrites or Globrites. We still would be doing a total of 3 of them - Our installer said its the same price. I am looking for guidance on which way would be best for us in the long run.
I am handy, and would like to replace them down the road should a new bulb be needed. I have heard that these do fail over time so i am just trying to think ahead. I have heard that there are a few options out there in the market that can be used as replacements, that are brighter and recommended when replacements are needed. I am unfamiliar as to which direction to go. Please provide some guidance if possible.

Thank you for reading up till this point.
There is a lot more to come. Photos, time lapse, and dreams. I just have to find the time.

Wow... that is incredible tile work on the deck. A lot of work went in to the retention wall too I can tell!

LOVE the tile!!

The only thing I can suggest is avoid the Globrites (seriously!) and I'm not all that sure about the Microbrites either, to be honest? Are their others available that meet your needs?

Keep us updated. :)

Do you have Pentair automation?

How were you going to control your pool lights?

Must your lights be color changing?

For the long term the best light is a Pentair Amerlite incandescent light. Then install an LED bulb if you must.

No LED pool lights have shown long term reliability.

The response I received was: "We usually use one of the Pentair automated control systems and a 300W transformer.."

I do not have any other automation. It would be nice I guess in the long run.
