Murphy Texas IG Pool

Did they "fuss" at all? Did they have you come look at it before they called it done this time?

You are going to love the hair nets! So much less stuff in your filter meaning longer time between cleaning it!

I missed something on the hair net deal -- I am about to embark on a build soon and want in on the hair nets!! Is this a product that helps the skimmers trap more hair? My wife and daughters shed enough hair for a small village.

Also, great looking pool. I am in the final stages with Riverbend (Plano) and have been following this thread closely in case you had a bad experience. So far, so good! Best wishes, and keep us updated!

The hairnets were a recommendation from Kim to help prevent dog hair passing the skimmer. Love it.

RB didn't fuss but the tile guy gave me a grunt, probably from those pics I sent to the PB. Only noticed him investigating the sound of a tile saw. Didn't even knock to say hi and didn't ask me to look at it. The grout seam looks clean this time. Once again the difference of a sub and the PB employees. I don't blame the PB for using a sub on smaller tasks.

Here is the link to them: https://www.amazon.com/Disposable-Hair-Spun-Bonded-Polypropylene-White/dp/B01N964X3J/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483012740&sr=8-3&keywords=hair+nets

LOL that is me. There are times I wonder how I have any hair left on my head with all I find in my brush!

Pool Electrical 014.jpg

Electrical showed up today bright and early. The owner Mr. Dewitt was there to get his men started. RB electrical has been in business for 25 years, two brothers own it and mom keeps them scheduled. They have been working with this builder for many years and also sub contracting for " a lot of small builders" in the DFW area. They built their name with the pool community but have a thriving business outside of pools. The owner shared with me something about his pool setup; it was built two years ago. Our PB built his pool.... no complaints. Nice!!

They were done in a few hours and will have to come back to install the computer. This is because of the logistics of getting the fence back up and moving my hot tub. He installed an extra box so I can integrate landscape lights in the future.

Inspection will be done tomorrow and then the stone guys get to work. It's going to be cold for the next week so they might not be able to cut and mortar. It's all good.

Electric inspection passed and the PB will have the stone masons on site this week. Because of the cold temperatures they will likely only cut the stone to size. Then mortar when the temperature rises above 35 for a full day. Spoke to the project manager (James) and it is possible that the final yard grade and fill could happen in three weeks....weather permitting.

The pipe running off of the main drain is the loop for the cleaners booster pump....

They came by last Friday to pre grade the yard to prepare for the decking phase. They brought a bobcat in the back yard and removed the undesirable dirt and filled in the electric and plumbing trenches. The Stone guys showed up Tuesday and might be done on Friday. Too many meetings this week, I wish I was home to watch these guys work but here is shot from my security system.

Next step is to clean up the gunite in the pool to prepare it for plaster, then they will setup the gravel foundation for the pavers. This will require a city inspection before the pavers can be placed.

Spoke to the PB supervisor today and all is good.

So it just started sprinkling and they covered up the saw, portland and cement. The thin green plastic under the top stones get removed later. Water will flow from it. It's called a sheer wall decent water fall.

The truck isn't here but the equipment is plugged in. They probably went for a snack. Please come back...so close to being done; days of rain ahead us here in N Texas.

They showed back up on Saturday around 9 am and finished up. I didn't want to touch the equipment because the 220v Elecrical was tied into the fuse box on my A/C unit. Never seen that before and will ask the PB. I'm sure its fine but these guys were not PB employees, conversations were short with lots of grunting and nodding. Bottom line is that they knocked it out and it looks like quality work.

The paver company came by last Friday, day the rain stopped to check out the plan and confirm any new details. They are a contractor for the PB. Tuesday they dumped a load of compact-able base material in the driveway along with the pallets of pavers. They spread the material out and used this mini vibrating zamboni to compact this material. Drains were roughed in and markers were set for the layout. We are waiting to the city to inspect the bonding (metal) before the pavers can be installed. The inspection for bonding also occured before the gunite was shot. I guess electrical strikes can cause serious damage to a rebar enforced cement structure. Took one day of work and 5 guys to complete this part.
