Added acid about 40 minutes ago and no change still high, won’t register on my test kit. 8.5 is the highest it will go so it must but higher. So frustrating.

Keep adding acid. As was stated previously - add enough to lower pH by 0.4, circulate for 30 minutes, test, and repeat until you get a pH in the 7's. Test TA then also.

Yes. TA was above 100 last time you posted. So once it gets down to 80 or below, the pH should not rise quickly.
Be sure your test kit can manage the testing of your water. If you are using the HTH, if your FC is above 5 ppm, that will alter the pH reading.

That's never good. Hopefully you add a good 5 ppm of liquid chlorine right away? Did you follow-up with a second FC test to ensure it's holding?
Its not holding, im losing all my fc which is why i’m trying to SLAM but if I can’t get my PH right I can’t start.
Can you post a picture of your pH test tube? Lots of people interpret it higher than it really is. Maybe thatll help.
No need it finally changed after adding MA for the 4th time. I’m in the 7 range now and TA is at 80. Time to SLAM.
UPDATE: Add recommended liquid chlorine at 12.5% concentration tested and i’m at 15 ppm. Is this normal for the first dose?
