Missing Spa Jets

That ring is for an "eyeball" directional fitting, often left off of a spa jet because they can get turned and block the flow, flooding the air line. Not a big issue, just that the jets won't have air (bubbles). That fitting itself looks like one that is pushed into the pipe in the wall.
As in most pool/spa combos, your jets should be a simple "T-Jet." Those are regular 1.5" plumbing tees with an insert in them so that they act as a let through venturi action. If your blower is on without the pump the bubbles will go straight up out of the jet.

This is very helpful - thank you!

So it sounds like my options are limited? Or, can I use this fitting, below? I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out if it is possible to install this, as the fitting below is male and the pipes coming out of the walls (after I remove the cap) are all threaded - not sure what my options are.
