Making slow progress

Ok, after opening the pool a week ago, it’s making progress. Just want to make sure I’m on the right track. The pool is slowly turning blue and clearing up. I can almost see the bottom in the deep end at this point. I just ran a test with the following results:

Pool specs:
In ground vinyl
35,000 gallons
Filter: Hayward Sand filter Pro Series
Pump: Pentair IntelliFlo
SWG: Turned off (water temp)


FC: 1.2
PH: 7.2
TA: 80
CH: 80
CYA: 30
TC: 5.9

Pool math dictates @6 gallons & 1 quart of 6% bleach (all 10% is out of stock here in Iowa). Anything else needed here? Thanks as always!

All your numbers look good except FC. Way too low.
TC is not a helpful number so you don't need to test it.

Is this for starting the SLAM, or just to bring it up to the recommended level?
You need to SLAM.

Something is amiss in your report.

If your FC is 1.2, then reporting a TC of 5.9 means you have a CC of 4.7, which I doubt.

Do you have a pic of your water? Tell us what test kit you are using.

Yeah, I’ll have to test TC again as it was just starting to storm here so I probably messed that up.

Test kit I’m using is the Taylor K-2006

How are you testing TC with a K-2006? It doesn't come with a Total Chlorine test.

Normally I would be tempted to think you might be confusing TC with CC, but you can't get an 5.9 reading with it, so that couldn't be the case here.

Apologies it is Combined Chlorine....shouldn’t be doing this in between zoom meetings?

Still confused as to how you got a 5.9 CC result with your kit. Can you elaborate?
