Lube for pump filter

What kind of lube is recommended for a pump filter basket?

Having issues with air getting into the pump filter basket when running.

Silicone is a better lube then PTFE. PTFE will tend to gunk up over time.

Ok. Can I wipe off the ptfe and just apply the silicone. Wash with some soapy water prior. I had ptfe so I used it but can Order what is recommended.

If you have a good seal I would leave it. Next time you take the basket out you can clean the area and apply silicone lube.

I don’t seem to have an air leak anymore so ill do as you suggest.
