I am in the process of dropping my TA. A question I have is, after adding acid do you let the pump mix everything around for a period of time (say, 30 mins), test PH then aerate? Or, do you add the acid and aerate right away?

Let the water mix for 30 minutes after adding acid, then check pH and start aeration.

Aerate right away. It will take several hours to days for your pH to rise, depending on how aggressive you are with aeration.
