Losing flow

Hi all,

Currently in the middle of a SLAM. It's going well but I'm having some issues with my filter. I can't seem to get any flow when I reach 18 on my gauge. It normally runs at 12. Is it possible that it's getting that clogged up with dead algae that fast (runs about 4 hours)?

Here's some history/info...

Changed the sand last year due to not knowing the history of the pool. It dramatically helped!!

Did a deep clean prior to starting SLAM.

Flow while filter is on bypass is very good.

When on bypass, I get water coming out of my multiport discharge opening. Not much, but some. Possible bad seal??

You need to backwash your filter regularly during a SLAM. It is not unusual for the filter to clog quickly with dead algae.

You can run in BYPASS until your FC demand drops indicating you have killed most of the algae and then go to filtering out the dead algae to clear the water.
