I have seen this mentioned before but not so sure about the suggested remedies.. IE Gaffa Tape, which will perish very quickly in direct sunlight. Has anyone solved this problem? Thanks.

I've never experienced this with pool, but GEAR AID Tenacious Tape is excellent and long lasting with outdoor camping gear/tent and pergola patching/repair. FlexTape might also be worth some research. Might be worth a try as you attempt to extend the life of your pool. Both available on Amazon in larger/longer rolls.
