Leave Robot Cleaner in Pool or Not?

Mine only runs when I'm home. The wife and I don't care for the look of the pool robot in the pool or the cable strung across the deck. So it goes in the water first thing on Saturdays and Sundays and once the cycle is done it comes out and on the caddy and into the pool float storage locker to prevent the sun from beating on it. I don't rinse it off and I only clean the filters every couple of weeks. I do wipe the cord dry as I'm pulling it out, but that is because I don't want water dripping all over me as I'm putting it away.

I also have an IFCS which keeps the debris to a minimum so I'm basically using the robot just to brush the walls. I just added the robot this spring, so I can't attest to its longevity at this point, but based on feedback from others here I expect to get a long life from it.
