Brand new, first time pool owner in Southeastern Indiana. Wife and kids are very excited! Been feeling overwhelmed this week, but this site has been a godsend already. Thanks for that!

Welcome -
Your SWCG is undersized for the size of your pool, so you'll need to run it pretty hard most of the time, but thankfully you have a VSP and can run low RPMs 24/7.

Make sure you understand the FC/CYA Levels and are using a recommended test kit. Test Kits Compared

Appreciate the information! We ordered the TF-Pro Salt testing kit and it was just delivered today.

Right now I have my pump on a schedule of 2 hours at 3000RPM; 14 hours at 2400RPM; and 8 hours at 1800RPM... But I just set that schedule up when I was familiarizing myself with the equipment, I haven't messed with it since then.

Many of us run our pumps 24/7 at the lowest RPM needed to:
1) Satisfy flow switch on a SWCG or heater
2) Skim satisfactorily
3) Filter water (least important or noticeable)

I bet you can lower your RPMs to 1100-1200 and run 24/7 with good results and 1/10 your power bill.

My heater showed not enough flow when it was at 1800 RPM speed. I'm guessing that it should run fine at 1800 RPM, which tells me that something else is going on. Any ideas?

I appreciate the help!
Every heater is different & has different tolerances.
Read your manual. A dirty filter will slow flow so bump up to 100-200rpms or so over whatever it takes to satisfy the heater & swcg when the filter is clean to account for the filter getting dirty later.
