Don't forget painting walls, cleaning the bathroom (includes putting on new toilet lids), etc :( We moved into this house 14 years ago and I STILL remember trying to get it all done! I feel for you BUT do the best you can do and add as much bleach as you should as many times as you can. It will work!

Nope no acid in the middle of the slam... don't add anything yet.. your target is 31 fc. So test in a little while and if it's below, add bleach to get back to 31...

Skim, brush, keep cleaning the crud off the bottom or unpack some boxes...
Chemical idle time right now

Try to get everything off the bottom of the pool. Extra organics use up a lot of chlorine.

Personally I think having a cya of 70 or 80 is way too high for a slam. Having a cya in the 30 to 40 range is manageable and will take less chlorine. If I were you, i would do a partial drain and refill to lower the cya.

Yes it would but, since you are already at and going to maintain the 31 fc, you could stay there and do the drain and fill later... you choice

To drain you would hook up to the vacuum hose attachment and suck out the water.. it's a peice that fits inside the skimmer... round thing with an elbow
