My new vs pump will not work
I (my electrician of course since its jandy ) removed a 1 speed flopro and put in a variable speed flopro 1.65
The flopro was working well and was controlled by my iq20 rs
I connected the power wires for 240 to line 1 and 2 and ground
i connected the rs485 as required and left the dip switches as per factory 1-4 off and 5 on ON the pump end
I did not change any dip switches on the T2 revision board in my jandy rs8
When I turn back on power I can connect to the equipment with my program and the pump says it turns on
I can hear a relay click when I do but nothing happens
Any suggestions

What is the software revision of your Jandy? It may not support a VSP.

thanks for all the help
As stated my revision is T-2 on my iq20 upgrade board so should be able to support the vsp
my pump manufacture date is october 2023 so fairly recent
when I go to vsp setup it does not include my flo pro pump offering only choices for e pump and non jandy
so I did nothing in here and perhaps that is the problem
It does not seem to automatically find my pump type
I have not touched the dip switches on my rs8
I dont understand the addressing in the reference you suggested but I assume that a t2 revision is older than the w required
I have not yet tried jumpering the r485 low voltage to turn on the motor as I have to remove the other wires from it first

I am hoping it just some simple issue

It is on a relay on the rs8 board (the usual 3hp 24dc )
IT WORKS at least its running and its too dark to see more
tonite Thanks a lot
so I guess I just need to read some more regarding setup and speeds etc
2 other questions
how do I get it to recognize the flo - pro instead of e pump

On a second question
will I have similar teething issues with my JVI heater when I switch it to 485 control

It should NOT be controlled by the relay, but should have constant power letting the software control the drive. The relay will always "click" when filtration is called for, but it may not be switching power to the pump. You need to check.
