It has begun in FT. Myers, FL.....finally!

Well, not much progress. A leak was found in the spa wall at a jet fitting. PB is tearing it apart to fix. I can't help feeling like it will never be good as new and we'll always have problems with it. Could just be my paranoia.
Here are some photos:

Finally! Lots of activity today. Final repairs on the spa to be done today. Old lanai and screen removed. Pavers started. Door to bathroom being cut as I type. Grout to be finished. Screen enclosure next week. After weeks of little or no activity this is very exciting.

A lot of progress today. Spa is repaired, hole filled with concrete, tile and coping replaced. A hole cut into the side of our house and a door to a bathroom installed. Pavers completed except for the patio section that will be outside of the screen cage which should be installed next week.

Thanks for the comments. We couldn't imagine having wet kids running through our living room (slippery tile) so the door was a necessity. The pavers weren't our first choice. We can't imagine having a different set of colors now. We love them. We had picked out more of a lighter white and charcoal combination but it was a pretty expensive upgrade. There will be foam pillars that will be attached to the square aluminum columns under the roof to dress things up a bit, maybe this week. I'm not sure what the schedule is for this week so I'm not sure what will get done. We are very happy to have progress and to get back to our almost nightly fires on the patio.

Thanks Kim! I haven't posted in a while because nothing has been happening. Finally, today the screen enclosure has been started. It's very exciting to see big changes. Equipment goes in this weekend. Electrician on Monday. Pool finish guys next week as well. Very possible we could have water a week from now!! We are anxious for this cage to be finished as we normally have back doors open.

After we found out that our original choice for the pool finish was not in stock 2 days before the scheduled install, we had to re-visit the whole pool finish issue. As it turned out, this was a blessing in disguise. Stonescapes "Sand" finish was suggested as a replacement for our original choice but after looking at photos of other pools we didn't like the water color. We were looking for that deep, rich blue water color. So we chose tropics blue instead. Then we got the quote for the installation of that finish color. Our PB said, "If you're going to spend that much, you should look into pebble tec". We looked at colors and cost and got a quote for the "Tahoe blue" pebble tec and as it turned out, it was't that much more so we went with the Tahoe blue.
The finish was applied yesterday and today water is going into the pool! Needless to say we are very excited. We are extremely happy so far with the choice of finish color. Although it wasn't a priority, the finish matches very well with the water line tile and pavers. We were more concerned with the water color. Even with the little bit of water that is already in the pool we feel we are going to love the water color when all is said and done.
