Hi! I just wanted to get some help for desoldering the thermistor from the AquaRite main PCB, and I am wondering if anyone had experience with it?

The solder joint on the board refused to melt no matter what solder tip/temperature I used. But it was all good when I tested it with my solder wire. What should I do to resolve this problem? Should I buy any other tools to get this job done?

What model soldering iron are you using with what wattage tips?
 
Some people have cut the wires coming out of the board at the old thermistor and then soldered the new thermistor to the wires.
