I have this at the edges of the pool and on tanning deck. I can brush it off easily, but it will return after 10-15 minutes.

Welcome to TFP!

Collect some, put a drop of muriatic on it. Does it fizz?

How are you testing your water?
Post a full set of water test results.

Thanks!
I will have to get some MA and check.

I was testing with strips. I had a company maintain the pool for a couple of months. No Bueno.
I am back to doing it, so I have just ordered a

TAYLOR TECHNOLOGIES INC K-2006 TEST KIT COMP CHLORINE FAS-DPD

My last test from the pool company read: (7/10/24)
5 ppm TC
5 ppm FC
4.8 pH
3200 ppm salt
80 ppm TA
50 ppm CYA
500 ppb Phos

We don't use LSI, we use CSI. Use poolmath (Link-->PoolMath) to track your results and additions, enable track temperature and CSI and it will calculate it for you.

Your CSI is .32 For SWCG, we recommend -.3 to 0. Your cell is likely creating calcium scale.

1) I'd get a salt test kit. Taylor K-1766 or this... TF Salt Bundle
2) I'd recommend that you lower your TA and pH. Good threads for you. Getting your TA down to 70 would make your CSI = -.05.
3) You might also consider borates.
