Is there a union part for this?

I'm trying to find a male threaded union that can work here. See the below picture. The left side is my normal 1.5" pool union part that connects to my pool pump. I was trying to just use a standard 1.5" PVC male union (with a 90 elbow) to connect to it, but it's not a fit unfortunately. The reason I want to connect a male union here is so I can connect PVC pipe to help blow out my lines and put anti freeze in.

What are you using to provide the air?
In my compressor days, a standard compressor hose male end screws into the drain plug on the pump perfectly.
I now have a Cyclone, and with that one can easily find a fitting that allows a standard pool vacuum hose to slip fit on one end, and screw into a skimmer on the other. Then with various valve changes, blow out everything via air coming from the skimmer. (Amazon.com)
That may also work with a wet/dry vac that some use, but I haven't tried. (My vac doesn't have enough oomph to force air out of the deep drain).

I'm using a shop vac. I have a compressor that I used for my old pump. However, I just installed a Pentair SuperFlo this year. With my old pump, I could plug the hole between the pump housing and the motor. Then I just screwed into the drain plug like you mentioned. However, with the SuperFlo, the opening that leads to the motor is really large and I don't have a plug large enough for it. I wasn't sure if that was okay or not to leave that unplugged and let compressed air into the pump motor area. Therefore, I just opted for the shop vac.
