My chlorine recently dropped to zero despite having my IC40 running at 80% then 100%. It seemed to be working fine before that because a) the chlorine level was fine and b) the ph increased (it always increases when the SWCG is running). All the lights are normal: Solid green Cell light, solid green Salt light, and 4 green lights indicating 80%.

When I run the test mode (pressing the More button for a few seconds), it shows 60% used / 40% remaining life. HOWEVER, this is the 8th season for this IC40. I've always removed it and stored it inside during the winter. Finally, it was last cleaned when I removed it to close the pool last year. And I didn't see any calcium buildup before installing it when opening the pool this year.

These have gotten so expensive, I want to know if there is a sure-fire way to ensure it is no longer working before purchasing a new one.

Thank you!

Did the OCLT last night and this morning. Started at FC of 4.5 last night. Exact same reading this morning. CC was zero. I never even thought about it, but the Intellichlor was "on" overnight. Had no effect on chlorine level.

Tested yesterday morning 14.5 and pool was covered, unused, all of yesterday. Checked again this morning and it was 14 with CC of 0. End the SLAM? And, if I do end it, where do I go now to figure out if my SWCG is working? Wait until chlorine drops to a more normal level over the next few days? Although we won't be using it much is my guess - rain predicted for every day except today. I plan to monitor the chlorine anyway over the next few days.
