Hello I have just moved into a new house and wanted some help.

I would like to upgrade to iaqualink 2.0.
I currently have the blue pda
I think if I have a rs6 I can just change the antenna part to a iq900 and should be ok. Can someone confirm?
Also how do I tell if I have a rs4 or rs6 or rs8?

thanks in advance.

How many relays do you have in the cabinet below the circuit board compartment?
I assume that you do not have any wall mounted remote - just the blue PDA - correct?
I just upgraded from a blue PDA only system to the latest iQ30-RS - this was a new PCB and the new 3.0 Antenna. It is a single package upgrade kit.
Post a picture of your cabinet with the relays exposed.

You don’t want the iq900, that is an older model transceiver/antenna unit.

iq30-RS upgrade kit that @HermanTX pointed out is the latest upgrade kit, it includes the latest transceiver/antenna along with the RS-PS8 main board.

Getting the upgrade kit saves money as the cost of the kit is not much more than the main board or the antenna by themselves.

I was trying to stay away from buying a new main board. I’ll send a pic tomorrow of my main board to see if it’s compatible with the iq30-rs.

There is an iQ30-A which is the antenna only. Not sure it will be compatible to your existing PCB.

I had the blue PDA and the PCB with it both needed to be replaced which is why I purchased the iQ30-RS kit. On my PDA start up screen it read - PDA 5.0, J-Box 4.0 and Handheld 3.0. Mine start up screen on PDA also had PDA-PS8 on it. Please take a picture of your startup screen of the PDA.

The iQ30-RS is the PCB and the antenna which are compatible and the PCB with the cover plate fit into existing housing

Everything I read before I did my upgrade stated that with PDA 5.0 you had to upgrade the PCB as well if you wanted to go with a internet/wireless connection to access via phone and/or PC. I see that it is noted as a P8 at the top which indicates RS-8 for Pool Only (no spa). A picture of your current PCB would be better to confirm that.
If you want to stop using the PDA then consider the iQ30-RS. You could also get the iQ20-RS. The only difference is the antenna. The 3.0 antenna is supposed to be improved to work with mesh wireless networks.

@Shiva.n Just want to check in on your status.
I wanted to clarify that the new bezel and PCB will handle the RS-4, 6 or 8 as the board has plug-in for the all components.

The main cabinet has 3HP relays (these are sometimes referred to as high voltage relays) as this is where your pump and other equipment is powered.
The cabinet can have up to 8 of these 3HP relays and it is usually set up as 4, 6 or 8. See the pictures below.

This is the pictures of my board. Do I need to change the board or can buy just a new antenna??
The picture of PCB did not show (The TFP site is having issues with loading attachments at this time), however, based on the firmware of your PDA shown earlier which is 5.0 - that is the firmware I had as well - and I had to replace the board and the antenna to access automation via phone app and/or PC website. That PCB with the PDA system simply connects the PDA to the PCB.

ask for iQ30-RS (this is antenna, PCB & bezel). the IQ30-A is antenna only and would be the upgrade of antenna only if you had the original iQ20 package.
Is this a pretty simple diy install? I’m pretty handy. Is there instructions posted on this site somewhere? Might be just to unplug wires from old and plug into new board??

It is an easy install - however - Jandy has taken the stance to not sell directly to the consumer or have internet sales. So you have to purchase from a authorized distributor. This does provide you some warranty on the positive side.
I did find a person on ebay that was selling the iQ30-RS but their price was higher than purchasing from my local retailer which included installation ($200). So my total cost cost was just under $1600 for the iQ30-RS upgrade kit + tax plus installation fee.
Hope this helps.

Ok sounds good. I’ll make some calls tomorrow. I’ll update as I go along. Thanks again

Hey all, I did the upgrade today. I know a long time later. Yeh, we have winter to deal with. But it was a simply diy install. my issue now, only my aux1 works, which controls my lights. My aux 2,3,4 don't control my JVA anymore. Did I miss something?
