Hi Everyone,

My current setup is 8 years old:
- Pentair Intellitouch (System i5+3) panel
- Heatwave Superquiet Heat Pump
- Pentair VS Pump (model 353114.E)
- Autopilot salt chlorine generator (Pool Pilot Digital Nano)
- Silencer Air Blower
- Levelor K110 Electronic Water Fill System
- Intermatic PX100 Low Voltage Pool / Spa Light Transformer
- Spa Side Remote (model iS4)
- Pentair Indoor Control Panel (model 510138)

Over time, the following systems have broken or no longer work properly:
- Pool LED light (I think it's a Globrite)
- Spa-side remote
- Intellitouch Indoor Control Panel (screen lights up, but nothing displays and all buttons no longer function)
- Levelor Auto Fill
- *Possibly* the thermostat that turns off the heat pump. I can turn the heat pump on, but it heats the pool without stopping at the set temperature.

I've been having the pool run using the built-in schedule on the Pentair VS Pump, but this functionality is very basic and requires frequent resetting. Basically, the automation and many of the features just don't work correctly anymore. I'd like to repair or replace the above systems, and add wifi / app functionality. If I'm going to spend the money, should I go back with similar equipment, or would you guys recommend something different altogether?

I'm not married to Pentair per se, and anticipate that the needed repairs would be expensive as it is.
Good longevity and wifi / app control are major goals, though!

There are several options.
You can eliminate the Indoor Control Panel and Spa Side remote, add Screenlogic, and have your app / wifi control.
For a bit more money, you can upgrade the IntelliTouch to an IntelliCenter. This comes with app/wifi control.
I suspect the auto fill just needs maintenance and the heat pump should be controlled via the Firemans Switch and the automation. So that just needs troubleshooting and repair.
The light you just replace with the upgraded Globrite. Nothing else properly fits within the Pentair niche nor can be properly controlled via the Pentair automation.

@mknauss and @Jimrahbe thank you for your replies.

I've decided to take your advice and upgrade to an Intellicenter. I'm going to go ahead and replace the globrites as well. Has Pentair improved the Globrite line's longevity at all in the past several years? It's going to cost about $800 per light to replace 2 lights, if I opted to replace the one in the hot tub at the same time to add color.

Hi Everyone,

I'm about to have a fair amount of automation repair done to my Pentair Intellitouch system.

I wanted to ask, has Pentair made any improvements to the Globrite line in the past several years? I have one light (white only) in my pool / hot tub each, and the pool one failed years ago. As far as I know, the hot tub one works (although unable to test because automation broken, as in linked thread). However, I'd probably want to replace both at the same time to have them both be the same color. Before I spend about $800 per light, I'm hoping someone here will be able to tell me the new Globrite series actually lasts several years...? hopefully...?

Curious for your thoughts and experience here.

In 2024 Pentair released an improved GloBrite light that a blue gasket and black end cap (left side), with improvements to the electronics inside to fix the failures the lights have been having.

The issue with the original Globrites was two different types of material was used in manufacturing, the body and the end where the wire went into the light were different so when the lights were on it generated heat and the seal was broke filling the light with water which resulted in cracking the housing.
