Intelliflow VS Pump and Aqualink RS4

Hello. I just bought a house where the previous owners set the aqualink to run the pump for 8 hours a day. The pump speed at the pump was set at 2500. This defeats the purpose of a VS pump right? I was reading the manual and as far as I could tell, the aqualink cannot control the speed of the intelliflo. I figured out a workaround by turning off the filter pump and schedules at the aqualink and set up a schedule using the pump itself. This works, however, now my aquarite chlorine generator does not turn on now. I figured that the chlorine generator power is connected to the aqualink. Is it possible to tie the chlorine generator to the pump instead? What are my options? Do I need to upgrade any equipment or can this be solved?

Denny,

It is almost never a good idea to use one brand of equipment to control another brand of equipment.. But.. there are a couple of exceptions.. I believe that at least some Aqualink systems can control an IntelliFlo pump.. See these videos...

Worth a shot...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Your Aqualink needs to be at least Rev O to have VS pump support. If you have Rev O or better and a basic IntelliFlo VS pump you have a chance the Aqualink can control the speeds. Read...

An often overlooked option, if your software revision is too old, is to have an Intellicomm 2 installed. It can be used to take relay and valve actuator signals and use them to change the speeds on the Intelliflo pump.
