So what I understand is the board can control 16 amps and the cooler averages 8 amps.
Pentair says it cannot control the cooler.
Is there a relay that the board can control that can turn on and off the cooler??

Ed,

The relay can control anything as long as the current is less than 16 amps..

I think maybe Pentair is saying the app has no 'cooler' function..

The relay is not going to control anything based on temperature..

If all you want to do is turn the cooler on and off, I can't see why it should not work, no matter what you call it in the App.

Did Pentair give you any reason it would not work??

Thanks,

Jim R.

That's what I thought. 8 amps is less than 16 amps.
All they said was the Amps were too high. Maybe because Glacier said they needed a 20 amp breaker??

Ed,

Worst case, you could just the use the relay in the IntelliFlo3, to turn on a contactor/relay that would run the cooler..

That said, I suspect that the relay on the I/O card would work just fine.

Thanks,

Jim R.
