Can the 5g LED white bulb be replaced with a color bulb or does the whole unit need replaced?

Hi VWfan69,
The downside to the Intellibrite LED Lights for both the color changing and white light version is that the bulb is not replaceable. The Intellibrite uses and integrated LED PCB Board meaning that when the light goes bad then the entire fixture needs to be replaced.
The Intellibrite White Light Fixture can be replaced with an Intellibrite Color Chaning Fixture but it would be the entire fixture that needs replacing and not just the bulb.
I really like the PureLine PureColors LED Color Chaning Light Fixture as the LED Color Chaning Bulb is replaceable meaning if the bulb does go bad then you can do an easy LED Bulb Replacement for $150 vs. doing a much more difficult complete light fixture replacement and also spending $600 for a new light fixture.
One last thing to consider is if you have multiple lights (i.e. pool and spa, or 2 lights in pool) and you go color changing then you will want to go with all being the same brand so that the light synchronize with each other.
