I'm guessing that is a reflection of an LED that is on the board, between those two relays.

Sounds exactly like what happened to mine. Actuators and everything were powered, but no display, and I had to run the pump from the pump controller. Fortunately for me, I was still under warranty and it got replaced that way.

I believe the only part number for the mother board, also includes a new faceplate, Pentair 523051. This is the board that has the expansion card slot, which you have the i8PS expansion card, so you need that. I don't believe there is an option to get it any other way. When the warranty guy replaced mine, he had the whole assembly, and removed the board portion and swapped it out.

Did you have any storms in your area recently? I'm pretty sure lightning is what took mine out.

What happened to the "mother board" in your IntelliCenter?

All of the personality cards plug into the i5P or i5X board.

What model automation system are we discussing?

I guess I could be a little more clear. The i5x is the motherboard for use in an expansion panel. It is supposed to be connected to another board over RS485 for use as an expansion an cannot be used as the main controller.

Ah, a i5X Expansion Board. Never seen one of those.

So the temperature sensors get connected on the main controller board.

I think all of your problems are because you got an i5X board instead of a i5P board.
