Impeller question

Someone removed some of the screws from the relays, but it looks like some are on the bottom of the box.

You should put those somewhere safe so that they don't get lost.

I would go with an Intelliflo pump over rebuilding the current pump.

Your pump breaker should be a 20 amp GFCI breaker, not a 30 amp regular breaker.

Thanks for the recommendation. All things considered, I think a new Intelliflo is the way I'll go. And I'll swap out that breaker as well.

To be honest it'll be a hassle getting this setup with a service company. As James recommended previously it'll be easier getting an Intelliflo (or Whisperflo VST) that was designed to work with the EasyTouch.

If you are set on just replacing the motor a simpler alternative would be getting a Dual Speed Motor and the 2-Speed Pump Relay for the EasyTouch. Run low speed for filtration and high speed for spillover/spa.
Thanks for all of your feedback. As I mentioned above, I think I'll just bite the bullet$ and get a new Intelliflo.

Is there a specific model number you'd recommend? I see 5 different models listed:

You can order pump unions from Polytec if thats where you got your pump or on Amazon. They are hi temp unions that screw into the pump ports using an oring for a seal. Cannot get them at big box stores.

Sched 40 is fine for other pvc connections.

I hate to ask such a basic question
🙋‍♂️

Ask.
Anytime.
You're.
Unsure.
Of.
Something.

Trust me, we will be JUST as bummed as you when whatevs you did fouled something up. We get zero joy in that, and then have new problems to solve along with the original one. Don't get me wrong, we'll help there too, and gladly at that. But it's better for all parties if you just ask in the dang first place. :)

How old is the EasyTouch?

What is the Firmware version?

An IntelliTouch Control System with firmware 1.170 or earlier will display "VSF+SVRS" in the pump type/selection.

While you will choose this option, the IntelliFlo VSF pump DOES NOT incorporate SVRS entrapment protection.

Sorry for the delayed response... travelling + holiday events delayed the install. I went with your recommendation of Intelliflo VSF ). Finally had time to install it a couple days ago (and replaced that breaker as well). For power, I used the wiring from the single-speed pump that was replaced. I was pressed for time because it was getting dark and I didn't get the communication cable installed, but I set up a couple of programs using the control panel on the pump just so I could get water circulating again. To maintain power to the pump, I had to program the "Pool" mode on the EasyTouch to run 24/7.

This morning I connected the communication cable to the EasyTouch. But when I plugged the cable into the pump, the pump stopped and gave me an error message: "Pump Address 1 Display Not Active!" I assumed this meant that I needed to assign a pump type in the EasyTouch Settings menu. The only options are VS or VF (there is no VSF + SVRS option) Choosing either VS or VF didn't solve the problem. My EasyTouch is a 2008 model. The Diagnostics menu tells me that the Software Rev is UIC: 2.1 / UOC: 2.04. Bootloader Rev shows UIC: 1.01 / UOC: 1.01 .

Not sure what to try next, as the Pentair manuals I have dont provide a lot of detail. I can control the pump through its control panel, but would really like to control it through the EasyTouch to fully maximize its options and flexibility.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

1. Be sure that the communication cable is connected at both ends.

2. Check that the pump local address matches with the address used in the IntelliTouch control system.

3. Check that the pump has been assigned a circuit name on the IntelliTouch control system.

4. Ensure that the pump display says “DISPLAY NOT ACTIVE”

1. Check - Both ends connected
2. Both set at Pump #1
3. The available types at the main control are only VS and VF. However, on my hardwired remote inside the house, VF, VS, and VSF are available. I can assign it as VSF from the remote, but when I assign a circuit (Pool), I get "Communication Timeout" and it reverts back to the home screen. I assume this is because the VSF option isn't available at the main panel, but no clue what to do about it.
4. The pump display says "0 RPM Not Running"

Also, not sure if this is relevant here, but the old pump was wired for power from the load side of Relay 5. I read that the Intelliflo should be connected to either the line side of the Filter Pump relay or directly to the breaker. So I moved it to be powered direct from the breaker.
