Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

So if you go 20X40 you’ll be looking at 28k-35k gallons depending on how big of a shallow end you get. You’ll want a 60k SWG which leaves Pentair and Circupool. I had 35 people in the pool for hours at a blowout party and the water got cloudy. I cranked the IC60 and pump to 100% and it was clear before I went to bed 4 hours later with the SWG/Fliter combo. The DE would do fine as well, but go as big as they have because your massive amount of gallons will need filtering.

The VS pumps are the 011028 and 011056. They are basically the same pump but the 56 has variable flow as well. You won’t ever need that but if the builder has a better price on it, Take it.
I was shopping them both recently and the 56 was about $300 cheaper on sale at that time. The builder probably won’t reflect the internet sales, especially this far in advance.
Yep... I told him today I want the biggest DE filter he has. He laughed n said you know know what you want. I said yes. He said ok. Told him 2" lines SWG 60... He was in agreement. That pool is going to see a lot of Officers so I'm going to need all the help I can get generating chlorine. If I have to dump a few jugs I will. There's going to be some wildness going on. Hope the neighbors don't care!

I personally don’t believe the Circupool claims of an extra lb of chlorine generated per day. It’s been said a few times that Circupool is ultimately behind the chart that we always refer to on DSP. (One bureaucratic way or another, I forget the details now). Now, don’t get me wrong, I wholeheartedly believe it is a beast of a SWG and maybe even edges my beloved IC60, but that was a beast as well so I don’t see anybody putting out 50% more.

What type of deck are you planning? What kind of fence do you have to have? How deep do you want it?
I'm good with a 3-4ft concrete plain jane deck. I'll have to have a fence. I have a fence guy that will drop everything to install for past customers. I'll probably go chain link to keep cost down. I want all my money going into the pool itself. Deep end will probably be 8ft. No diving board or slide. Possible jumping rock.

5ft is good so 2 people can pass each other. Like you said, this pool will get USED.

Now, her Royal Highness Grandbaby supreme will VERY quickly walk laps (one millimeter per second less than what would constitute unsafely running at the pool) on any decking possible. Her majesty will care not what is beneath her feet when an IG pool is beforst her eyes.

Matter of fact your friends won’t give 2 hoots either. You’ll want to talk about all that went into it and your choices and they’ll be all : ‘Woooooo POOL !! CannonBALLLLLLLLLLL !!!!’

ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY! I'm going to keep it a secret. She didn't get a Christmas this year fitting for a Princess because of my job and essential employee BS.

5ft it is.

You rang????? WOW this is going to be such a fun one!!! Casey is getting an in ground pool and we get to help her design it!

Fence-check with your planning people about what they will allow. Quite a few will NOT allow a chain link fence as it is too easy to climb. Best to know now so you can plan for it.

Will you put the fence just around the decking or out a bit? If out a bit I would look into pavers or such to put seating areas on for the groups of people that will be enjoying YOUR IN GROUND POOL!!!!

The wall can also act as a seating area. Oh I see a bench on the wall with a pretty table or two in front of it. Lights all along the bottom of the wall to light up the area with soft light.

I'll see what code wants but I've seen chain link around pools here. could be older but I'll check. I'm just doing the decking and the rest will be grass area with plants and flowers.

Now, you can’t say it or you’ll jinx it. I however can say it all day long. The universe owes you something fierce. Oh so glad it is finally paying up a bit. Don’t forget to charge that SOB some interest.

I bet whoever is failing at running the universe has some whack butt idiot name. Like Carl Carlson, or Steve Stevens. something like that.

Looks like that pool builder deals exclusively with Jandy products.

I just told my daughter I'm buying Princess an in ground pool. She is so excited! She wants to buy the above ground pool. I told her what I want for it and that I would install it for her. She said Princess is going to LOVE it!

Thinking I may ask PB about well points since the pool is at the lowest end of the property. I'd hate to see my liner float and not have a way to deal with it. Even if I never have to use the well points, I have them if I need them. I added it to the list.

8 years ago I was quoted $1k each. They said if they didn't hit water when they dug the deep end that I didn't need them and if they hit water I only needed them (4) until the liner went in and was filled. My soils and aquafiers are different from yours so use that info FWIW and just add it to your total knowledge. The price may have gone up as *well*

Oh yes, the vinyl pool dewatering ideas. Yes a few wellpoints. Also, have them follow the method that one of the Northeast PB’s describes (forgot his name at the moment) for backfilling and placing a drain around to daylight on the low side of the area. Let me know if you find it. I’ll look when I have a chance also. It involves lansdscape fabric, stone, and drainage pipe. No soil for backfilling. It’s really hard to compact it properly and therefore is rarely done adequately.

If you do a wall on the upper side, you can do piers (large PVC pipes filled with concrete placed vertically) to support the lower side deck if it’s above existing grade at that point.

Yeah, a few gallons of bleach on hand might work well for the Officer days. Not sure how quick they’ll be getting out to unload.

Dang... its gonna be hard to get a few quotes. I have an email out to another guy with the same time frame of late fall early 2022. Just waiting on him to get back to me. Covid has everyone tapped out. Pool company just said they wont even give an estimate.

Anyone have opinions on vinyl lined steps? I found another company that gave me an over the phone quote for $60k, 20x40 plain Jane pool (what I'm looking for anyways) Jandy equipment, no heater until they know what utility I use, automatic cover and 4ft of concrete, slated for fall install. I'm okay with the price which is what I was expecting.

And here's my silly question of the day... can you guys see my test results? I paid for the subscription to save everything.
