I'm baaaaack

Walmart usually has Pool Essentials 10% for under $6/gallon.
Be sure to check the date codes - the fresher the better. The code looks something like 23-125, where 23 is the year and 125 is the day of the year.

Home Depot, lowes, Menard, and the like. Pool stores in the worst case sells it at a premium. Make sure you change the strength in poolmath per the chlorine you're using as the liquid content will be more or less for the same outcome of FC gain. Keep the slam level up atleast every 2 hours for now so it can move along otherwise below slam level does nothing.
Good morning and Happy Father's Day to all that may apply to!! Yesterday was the day we had set aside to start the SLAM. Unfortunately our home air conditioner decided to fart twice and die so 90% of our day was spent trying to get comfortable in 90+ degree heat with humidity. So we are back. The ac is fixed ($$$) and now I can devote time to the SLAM. This link goes to the liquid chlorine we purchased at Lowe's. If anyone has experience with this brand and has any comments good or bad. Please let me know. We bought 4 bottles of it and can get more if needed.

Here are the Poolmath test results of a few minutes ago.

I'm going to sit down with some coffee and go over the SLAM process again.

Pool Essentials chlorine is 10%. It can also be found at most Walmart stores for under $6 per gallon.

In PoolMath, set it up to share logs to the forum. Then your results will show whenever someone clicks your profile pic and "PoolMath Logs". Click mine for an example.

Apparently bec my current FC level is 9, my SLAM target of 24 is "outside of recommended range". Should I ignore that warning?? Also, the last 36 hrs worth of results are below.

SLAM level has nothing to do with your current FC level. It is entirely based on your current CYA level.
When SLAMming, you can ignore the "outside of recommended range" messwge as long as you are confident of your CYA level and the SLAM level listed in the FC/CYA chart - FC/CYA Levels

Get your pH down to 7.2 first, then start the SLAM.
During the SLAM, only test FC and CC levels. No need to test/adjust pH until after the SLAM is complete and the FC level drops below 10. The other levels don't need to be tested either.

I am confident. See attached screen shot.

In the FC tab move the slider just above the current and target boxes to the right. This will automatically input the target FC level for SLAM based on the CYA number you have (24ppm FC for 60ppm CYA as you already know)

Then you can put your bleach details in and it will let you know how much to add to reach target level provided you have you pool volume input.

You want to get up to 24ppm and keep it up there as often as possible but the SLAM process wants you to lower your pH first.
