If anyone is still awake need some help fast if possible.

Quite possibly, would this be in the cleaning section, the laundry section, or the hardware section?
Might have missed the normal one.
Also have an Aldi in town...
Should be the laundry/cleaning supplies.
Aldi's is "pure" bleach, as long as it's 6% on the bottle :)

I know Dollar General had 96 or 121oz of 8.25% sanitizing bleach last year, not sure if they still do?

if i use a gal of 6% then that takes 6 ppm up to 11 ppm, kinda high (CYA 50) but if i get two days out of it before it hits 6 again and it's still safe for swimming and doesn't cause problems...
Not dangerous or unsafe. In fact, just over the "suggested" daily target.
It would depend on bather loads, etc, if she added in the AM, then UV would burn off excess during the day (always make sure pump runs for at least 30-60min when adding chemicals to properly disburse them)

I've never seen a dollar-type store put a % on their bleach! Exciting!

You'll be able to find out how many days between 10% jugs, no worries. No point to go to 6% unless it somehow saves you money. 8.25% might if you can find it without the additives and cheaper, but if your supply of 10% is fresh and affordable, get on cruise control and go back to your farm work.

I'd think there would be pool stores in GA with the refillable 2.5 or 5gal containers for trade bleach/chlorine, but who knows if they're worth the drive for you.

You're safe to swim up to slam fc, so overshooting target does no harm to anything but your wallet. You may even prefer the extra FC cushion, I know I do.

Most Walmarts have at least a tiny pool section in patio/landscaping/just pets/grilling/gardening/cosmetics year round. It sometimes relocates, but usually stays somewhere. Fair warning, the 10% bottles sell slower after the swim season ends, so you'll have to be more mindful when buying to check the dates. I had to switch to the regular bleach one winter since all the remaining bottles of 10% were over 90 days old.

Oh man. You might be swimming at Disney. We’re sitting in what might become first tropical storm of the year.

The good news is it won’t be as hot!

yeah, well, at least there is alot of indoor stuff. Wife's first time at disney tho :(

for funsies, the following is a transcript asking HTH about thier cal-hypo pucks I intend to use on vacation:

I figured for 1 time use, the "Blue" portion wouldn't kill me

Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:09:57 PM): Hello, my name is Victor. How may I assist you today?
Me (5/22/2018, 5:10:06 PM): bought some Blue Sparkle™ Skimmer Tabs
Me (5/22/2018, 5:10:42 PM): My CYA is at 50 and I run my 1 hp pump 24/7 in slow speed (2 speed pump)
Me (5/22/2018, 5:10:53 PM): I want to keep my FC between 6-8 ppm
Me (5/22/2018, 5:11:01 PM): how many tablets should I be using
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:11:43 PM): We only recommend keeping your chlorine between 1-4 ppm. Keeping it higher will cause skin and eye irritation. How many gallons are in your pool?
Me (5/22/2018, 5:11:45 PM): running the pump in slow speed 24 hr is more or less equal to running it 8hr in fast i think
Me (5/22/2018, 5:11:49 PM): 12000
Me (5/22/2018, 5:12:12 PM): and I disagree on the FC level, neither of us are going to change our minds on that
Me (5/22/2018, 5:12:18 PM): Just want to maintain it there
Me (5/22/2018, 5:12:24 PM): 6-8
Me (5/22/2018, 5:13:21 PM): i typically use liquid chlorine, bought these for a vacation
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:13:31 PM): For a 12000-gallon pool, we recommend using 1 skimmer tablet in your skimmer at a time.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:14:05 PM): ... was looking for more detailed info
Me (5/22/2018, 5:14:25 PM): I can read that on the packaging
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:15:07 PM): 1 tablet will raise the chlorine level in a 10000-gallon pool between 1-4 ppm.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:15:24 PM): over how long
Me (5/22/2018, 5:15:41 PM): since this goes in the skimmer, seems like it would be related to pump run time
Me (5/22/2018, 5:16:14 PM): does it dissolve based on flow or time or current FC levels?
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:17:25 PM): It should last approximately 1 week, give or take a couple days depending on pool usage. This assumes an average 10-12 hour daily water circulation time.
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:17:46 PM): Water flow will be the primary contributor to the tablet's dissolve rate, along with water chemistry.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:18:18 PM): so that 10-12 hour circulation time, is that assuming more than 1 pool turnover a day
Me (5/22/2018, 5:19:07 PM): and by pool turnover I mean a sufficent amount of flow to circulate the entire volume of the pool through the filter
Me (5/22/2018, 5:19:30 PM): which is the reccommended pump run time, right?
Me (5/22/2018, 5:19:40 PM): (for the standard pool owner)
Me (5/22/2018, 5:20:42 PM): what I am getting at, is do I need to adjust my pump run time
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:20:50 PM): It is not necessarily. Different pumps & filters will have different turnover rates - the main factor will be simply water flow through the skimmer.
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:22:15 PM): Since you keep your water circulating 24 hours/day, you may find the chlorine level raising higher than 4 ppm, despite having a low flow rate.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:25:39 PM): so to summarize, running a pump 10-12 hrs a day gives 1-4 ppm FC for a 10k pool
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:25:49 PM): That's right.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:26:06 PM): that's all you can tell me
Me (5/22/2018, 5:26:17 PM): I am an engineer, i can handle more technical information
Me (5/22/2018, 5:26:50 PM): I would like to use this product while on vacation starting next weekend and I will be gone for just under a week
Me (5/22/2018, 5:27:26 PM): I want to maintain my FC where I want it, and I want the tab(s) to last the whole time
Me (5/22/2018, 5:28:35 PM): sounds like to me, if i ran the pump the 10-12 hours and used 2 tabs i would be around 5 ppm FC add (averaging the 1-4) for 10k gal but since it's 12-13k gal, maybe more like 4
Me (5/22/2018, 5:29:06 PM): so now I am thinking, install a mechanical timer and use 3 tabs and set timer for 11 hr run time
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:29:13 PM): Since we don't intend for our chemicals to maintain a chlorine level over 4 ppm, we don't have dosage rates for higher than 4 ppm. Adding more tablets with the same flow rate will increase the chlorine ppm.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:30:05 PM): well as some professional development look into the effects of CYA on the availability and potency of FC
Me (5/22/2018, 5:31:06 PM): the place where I get a good bit of pool help is troublefreepool.com but they dont like any sort of tab and I dont want to pay someone to do the liquid chlorine adds while I am gone
Me (5/22/2018, 5:31:30 PM): so, you cant help me any more, got it.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:31:53 PM): any more assumptions that are used to give the 1-4 ppm FC for 10k gal pool?
Me (5/22/2018, 5:32:12 PM): so that I can factor that in to my calculation on how many tabs to use...
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:33:01 PM): The pool gallonage, water flow, and chemical amounts are the primary factors in the amount of chlorine that will be added to the pool.
Me (5/22/2018, 5:33:06 PM): also yall dont talk about the fact that this product raises Calcium Hardness and Salt... just fyi
Me (5/22/2018, 5:34:21 PM): my pool is vinyl so I dont have to worry about that as much but, someone with a plaster pool maintaining it where it should be might end up with too much with this stuff...
Me (5/22/2018, 5:34:34 PM): anyways, thanks for the info you were able to provide
Victor B (5/22/2018, 5:35:00 PM): You're welcome. Let us know if you have any other questions.

LOL. I got dizzy halfway through that.

You all will have a great time! If I wasn’t going out of town this weekend, I would come over and say hello! (Annual passholder)

You made his poor little head hurt with all of that technical talk LOL He SO wanted to only follow the script!

Okay so on the "blue" part...........please check to make sure it does NOT contain copper or such. A lot of times that is what "blue" means and you do NOT want that!
