I need your help!

I’m gonna bump this up once again as again this year we’re looking at tinkering with some things over the Winter. We at TFP would like to ask users to again share some of their photos with us in hopes we can use them around the website. Regardless if it’s a photo of your pool, a closeup of a pile of DE, a shot of your equipment pad, your Salt water cell........whatever you got, there’s a chance we’ll be able to use it!

Allow me to further describe why we’re begging here,
We currently have around 200 pages maintained almost solely by TFP consisting of the Wiki, Pool School, Homepage, YouTube channel front-page, and so on. Finding photos is a HUGE part of making these look good, and it’s one we can improve upon. Currently many of these could use some “love” in the visual appearance category, and we’re looking to do that. As of right now we’ll likely turn to stock photo sites for those visuals, and that’s a bad idea......but one we’ll do if necessary.

This is a bad idea for two reasons. First, it’s costly. Looking at two big sites, Shutterstock and iStock show prices in the $10 to $15 range. That can add up VERY quick. Now granted you do get a discount if you subscribe to monthly plans, but it’s still WAY more expensive than using amazing photos from our members. Now in full disclosure I’ll also admit there are free stock photo sites and we’ve used those too, but now we hit issue #2. Because these sites are popular and easy to use, everybody uses them. How often have you seen a photo on one website and immediately recognize it from another website? While this isn’t the end of the world, it’s not the cleanest either. I want to make TFP stand out, and it’s hard to do when you look like everybody else.

So I beg, please oh please oh please start snapping some photos. ANYTHING may find a spot somewhere. Who knows, maybe even @kimkats will give you one of her gold stars. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@Leebo all my pics are in personal albums here at TFP. Not sure any of them are what you're looking for (that you haven't already seen or used that is).

One of these days my Intex will be landscaped around, and will be a good pic for Intex style pools...but "one of these days" is shaping up to be another year or three...

I'm honestly looking for just about anything. I'll peak at your list @jseyfert3 as you've given permission in the past. I'm not really wanting to use photos without permission thus the reasons I'm kinda asking here. So what am I looking for, lets look at this page. In Pool School we've got things setup where automatically the software will show a "pop-up" when you hover your mouse over the term "skimmer sock." This glossary helps users visualize or learn what some of these technical terms may mean. Remember, MANY people are visual learners, so if you show a person something they're able to learn more than if you have them read something.

Additionally of coarse I'm always looking for beautiful pool photos. These are often used in items such as emails, TFP Supporter pages, and featured images for the articles.

So to answer your question of what I'm looking for.............just about anything. :)

@Leebo I have a folder on my computer with all my pool photos, which in turn, contains organized subfolders from every step of my build. From the demo, to excavation, to steel, plumbing, electric, gunite, etc .. all the way to complete. I've zipped the top level folder up to a zip file, and uploaded it to my Google Drive.

You can download the zip file here: Pool_Photos.zip

It's a fairly large (~1.9GB), so will take a bit to download ... but you're welcome to use any of the pictures within.

I have over 5000 pictures and video and 65 GB worth on my server but most are not pool pictures... I will have to go through them and see what I have :)

I just uploaded about 40 or so that your welcome to use, the actual pool photos are to big to upload as most are over 5 mb, some are 10 mb each.... :) most are spring cleaning pictures after the winter closing, so dirty to clean.... you can use any in my pool build also...

Just as a hint at how we’re in need, so far I’ve used two of the photos in a glossary, one in a Wiki article, one in an upcoming email, and I’ve got plans for another 3......just gotta get the time to utilize them. ☺️

Keep them coming!!
