in 10ml sample, barely clear and clears with 1 drop...FC=.5

Yeah, I used 45 Gallons for mine. Cleared out Aldi and WM HaHa. Get a bunch, I'd say 15. You can always take it back.

Yeah, algae chews through that stuff...LOL. The addition was just to slow the growth while we waited. We used a reduced the amount because we had no idea the CYA in the pool. Adding too much without CYA can do damage...

That was before I found liquid chlorine = bleach. You can use bleach, but we don't recommend it because they started adding polymers (CLOROX NEVER USE), fragrances, softeners etc...that causes other issues.

Interesting. I’ve noticed my pool just turned a few shades greener after this round. We’ll see what it looks like in the AM.

This is all just so wild that 1 gallon of VC turned my pool into milk and 2 weeks later we are climbing out of it. I wish I understood what happened better.

Ok well, I am VERY happy right now. My pool looks like a 4K tv and I’ve never seen it so clear and crisp. Look at the pics. It looked like clam chowder a week ago. I’m headed to Pinch a Penny to get more chlorine.

@PoolStored - just looking ahead on slam finishing, what is “Cc“ at .5 or lower? I dont think I’ve seen that acronym anywhere.

EDIT - I see CC now is "combined chloramines". Will update this thread shortly with AM readings.

Misty, I know that you know, but for the OP...Algae doesn't consume (eat) FC. The FC is consumed killing the algae. LOL...
