I finally get to post a thread here!! Renovating pool and yard

My biggest concern at this point is the water being cloudy but it did get high use with a lot of people over the weekend, I have just been pouring 1/2 gallon 10% around 11am and then the other half around 7pm since it's been super hot this weekend... I'm gonna keep an eye on it next couple of days and see if filter clears some of it out

Mine gets cloudy every time we use it. It clears up though. I did a chlorine loss test a couple of weeks ago and it was fine but I want to do one again. I can’t keep my chlorine levels up. Like at all. It’s even gotten down to zero. I’m wondering if my cell is bad.

I’m at 70, finally. It took forever to get it up. I realized that my early additions were off because my scale wasn’t accurate so I wasn’t adding as much as I thought. Plus, I was scared to add too much so I was being very conservative with my additions anyway so it took forever.

Since it's been brutal for us the last few days im trying to keep FC somewhere 10-11 since it seemed I am losing 4-5 to sun gods lol so im just keeping it on the high side until my 30 days are up and it seems the best method to keep it above min at all times is my 1/2 gal dose before noon & the rest around 7pm

@clambert1273 Just found this thread, beautiful pool, beautiful job. We’ve got a pool in planning stages, dig happens in September. I love the colors and the turtle - my wife is a potter, perhaps she should make one for our pool!

can you remind me your tile and plaster selections?

Sure the plaster is my reno company's own blend called baja mini pebble and color was sky blue cobalt & we added sapphire blend beads

my salesperson picked our waterline tile last minute because my choice was not available, the bling tile is my original selection and the 14yo picked the turtle lolE45618CB-10F3-4416-BAEE-10D59AD8EB3B.jpegB6BA7A87-A9FE-481B-BC4B-6DF1E9283286.jpeg68282B5B-D556-4703-9D9A-CD00E7C23D15.jpeg

Also remember while doing this my family was adamant with the reno company that we wanted BLUE and zero hint of green, we were so tired of green lol

Still holding pretty steady, im just counting down for july 7 when I can add salt & let my robot do his thing but we did get the final piece of the reno yesterday now we are fully complete! Installed my handrail yesterday ❤️❤️ Ignore the mud/dirt my brat dogs do it all day every day lol18D7444C-9D18-4F32-AA3F-3372304157E5.jpeg

Everything had been going good & pretty steady, it's been crazy windy here so my skimmer is working overtime lol but at least it's working! Testing has been pretty stable with today being the only "high" PH reading but I think thats from the wind combined with on & off rain yesterday. My biggest problem is with crappy vacuuming we've been full 18 days now and im losing patience not having robot in. These cruddy vinyl vacuum heads don't pick up anything and I really want to get the dirt out & the small batches of leaves that sank... I broke 2 vacuum heads already & had to buy a 3rd but none of them work at picking up anything so im annoyed and frustrated

eta: at this point im about ready to accept consequence & drop tripp in the water & let him do his this

That’s a bummer for sure. I often cheated by sweeping the crud to a general area and then only had to vac that area. It took a few tries because the brush stirs some up but it was easy to let it settle for a bit and come back for another round a bit later. You’ll get a feel for controlling the dust cloud and how hard to sweep.

I brush it still and tried the pile thing but no go on these cruddy vacuum heads, I need my boy running in the pool lol
