I recently got a quote for re-tiling my pool. I have two things I'd love to hear feedback on:
The guy that came out to quote me said that 1" tiles are more expensive to install and much harder to keep clean. He seemed to be heavily discouraging me from going with smaller tile and was pushing 6" tile.
He also looked at me like I was an alien when I said I wanted a trimline on the steps. He said they are required for commercial pools but has never had a request to do that on a residential pool. I think they look really nice--am I crazy??
This is the type of tile that I think looks really good for the water line as well as the trimline on the steps:
- Am I asking for trouble going with smaller 1" tile when it comes to cleaning and long term care (vs. 6" tile)?
- Is it dumb to get tile trimlines on the steps for a residential pool?
