The TF-Pro test kit uses the 10ml test for CH. The Taylor video I saw called for 25ml water. According to that video, I'm supposed to modify the normal test by adding R-0012 first, but not sure how much with the 10ml version.

Are there clear instructions I can try?

The issue I'm having is that the mixture takes forever to turn to blue. I can't determine the endpoint, nor how long I should wait between each drop of R-0012. According to other forum posts I found, should be about 1 second for each drop but that's way too fast for me.

Today is the first day I started testing CH every month instead of every week. I jumped from 400ppm to 550ppm which seems wrong to me. I must be doing the test wrong (i.e. probably am adding R-0012 too fast and I go past my endpoint because the color change is so slow).

Thanks, I didn't realize that page had such clear instructions. After putting 5 drops of R12 first, the test became much easier. I got a result of 450 this time which seems more reasonable.

Are there any downsides to doing the test this way going forward?

I need to ask how you found this page. I keep having to come back to this thread like it's a bookmark in order to find this again. I tried using search at the top. I tried pool school. I tried Wiki. Looks like it's just a blog entry and the site's search isn't the best so its no surprise I couldn't find it. Any advice is appreciated. I like to try to find information on my own if I can.
