To all arguing back and forth … we’ve seen this conversation a hundred times over on TFP. It’s basically a “Ford versus Chevy” argument and no one will come out on top.
If you like your plumbing setup and the filtration equipment attached to it, awesome. Keep at it. But everyone needs to stay in the bounds of reason and realize a few ground rules, axioms if you will -
1. There is a purpose and use for everything and operating conditions that need to be met in order for stuff to work as it is intended.
2. The more “stuff” you add to your pool, the more maintenance/upkeep cost (time or money) and potential down time you incur.
3. Every pool is different and every region has its unique weather and atmospheric patterns. Stuff that works well in one place might suck in another.
4. If you can’t support something with a basis in scientific principle, then it is simply someone’s opinion and no more or less valid than an opinion. State facts and data when you can or else it is cheerleading at best or snake-oil sales at worst.
