How to change Backwash outlet and salt cell

I am with American Home Shield and called them when my filter cracked. They sent a vendor out who modified the plumbing to where the backwash outlet is now facing the opposite direction (towards electrical outlets) and mis-threaded the salt cell. I want to know how difficult is it to change the backwash outlet to face the opposite direction (where it was originally) and how do I get the salt cell off? One side unscrews very easily, but the others is stuck! I have called a several pool companies, but after three weeks of no shows, I am ready to conquer on my own! 9A69C195-2742-429A-8786-CD44EF12D6C8.jpeg

It looks like the repair guy replaced your P/N 261055 - 2” Multiport Valve Kit MPV with a P/N 261050 - 2” HiFlow Valve Kit.

They both work on your filter but have the ports on opposite ends.

See page 2 in https://www.pentair.com/content/dam...s/filters/quad-d-e-/quad_de_install_guide.pdf

You need to get the P/N 261055 - 2” Multiport Valve Kit, cut out your existing MPV, and do the PVC work to install the new MPV.

On your SWG union have you tried using a strap wrench on it?

What model SWG?

Post pics of the SWG.

Thank you so much! I have not tried a strap wrench, but will do that.

Does the label on the multiport say for Quad DE?

Does the silver barcode label show P/N 261050?

Can you show a better picture of the whole cell and the pipe it connects to?
