Did you add the bromine algaecide? Depending on quantity your pool would now be a bromine pool and will be very difficult to manage.

Yes I believe it was bromine. Is there a way to remove it? What will it do to make it more difficult to manage?

I really think you should consider draining your 5100 gallon pool and start with fresh water.

As Allen said, only way to remove it is to replace the water.

Bromine is designed for spas. Pools need CYA to protect the chlorine. With bromine the chlorine activates it but is not protected by the CYA.
