I’m going on spring break. My PH typicall goes from 7.0 to 8.0 in 4 days. Is it safe for me to bring it down to 6.5ish so I can leave for a week? I don’t want to damage the gunnite or equipment.

Low pH can damage equipment quickly.
High pH for a week or a month does not damage anything.
Lower your pH to 7.2 if you feel you must.

No reason for a new fiberglass pool pH to creep up.
That is a characteristic of plaster curing.
