I have 2 sets of filters, but one set is cheapos that do not fit perfectly (Excel). Good enough for quick swap while I do a major filter cleaning. I looked up on Amazon to price another set of exactly what I'm normally running. PLEATCO PA106, which is the filter for a Hayward 4025 filter. Almost $300.
Apparently, I bought the PLEATCOs in 2011. I repaired the bands with some hot-melt glue, mostly making the bands stick to the pleats. And I think a couple of pleats near the ends are starting to go. 11 years seems like a good run for a set of filters.
How long have yours lasted?
Also, there are a LOT of aftermarket filters. I know PLEATCO make a great filter. Are there any other aftermarket filters you'd recommend? Any to stay far far away from? PLEATCOs used to be cheaper than OEM Hayward filters. Now they are about the same price.
