how do you replace the elbow pipe on a Hayward pool filter ( 200 series 1982 side mount for value ) it has a crack in it and does the top diffuser just pull away from it ? Thanks

when you take the filter top off its the first vertical pipe you see---the elbow is connected to it---do you just pull it apart from the elbow pipe---pictures coming soon
