Plus, the thought of dealing with more contractors or repair guys that do a half Rear, yet expensive job is worse than looking at the stains...well, more like 50-50.
Boy, I hear you on that one!

That’s a fair price for resurface. I had my last pool (as mentioned) resurfaced and put the $2k toward a tanning shelf instead of the tiles. They too were retro and a deep blue-base Spanish tile, so we kept it. Retrospectively the shelf kinda sold the house, but I wish we would have spend the $ to replace the tiles also. I forgot that 2 years prior I sistered in some cheap penny tile into a 1’ stretch of tile that you can’t see unless you’re in the pool. That area was falling apart, as were others. That pool was 32 years old, and they media-blasted the tile with the wrong stuff and left the tile permanently all hazy.Full chip out, plaster, fixing tile issues, and upgrading to the VGB stuff is about $8K. Another $2-2.5K to completely replace the tile. I'm going to at least do the full plaster and drains, and if I can find a good tile that I like, replace that, otherwise just have them reseat any lose tiles. I like the retro look of the tiles.
Looking good. Who is doing the water chemistry for the first 28 days?
