Hose kinks! HELP!

Sounds to me like you could have a blockage in the cleaner itself. It should be on a regulator as mentioned, but should not need full-throttle to function. Add to that the collapsed hoses, and it all says "new cleaner" to me. At the very least, get a schematic and take it apart to check for broken parts or blockages. Wish I could offer more help, but cleaner repair is not on my resume.
Best of luck.

It is possible that the 3 way valve is not a Jandy branded valve. No matter, the wider part of the valve handle (opposite the actual handle part you hold) should never be rotated toward the pump side of the valve (as that restricts/stops flow to the pump). That wider part of the handle points to the valve port that is off. It should only be rotated thru a 180 degree arc from the skimmer port to the cleaner port so as not to never rotate thru the area closest to the pump.

Glad to see that @Rancho Cost-a-Lotta got you sorted on the pump vs filter item.

@RDspaguy has a good point about a possible clog in either the cleaner itself or maybe the hoses. Needing full suction to make the cleaner move isn't normal and can lead to the hoses collapsing.

We can certainly help you get this all sorted out. Sometimes it's a bit more challenging to do over the internet, in writing, rather than just popping by to take a look. Sometimes it does take a bit more patience and asking questions to figure it all out.

I'm going to pop in here and remind the original poster that its not just one person trying to help you, so please have a bit of patience when they ask a question you *may* have answered somewhere previously. Many times the volunteers are reading posts and typing questions while another post is popping up at the same time with a comment or answer and they've not seen that yet.

We're a very dynamic forum, with a LOT of great volunteers! :goodjob: Thanks for all you do.

Sorry folks I had it wrong. It blocks flow to the pump when rotated the OTHER way. I got it confused. Does that mean anything different? I guess I could try to check for blockages. Hose is new and I check the cleaner itself all the time. Vacuum head DOES need replacing sometime in the near future, just because it's old and some plastic is starting to wear through from the chlorine and sunlight. Thanks folks.

Folks, for the record, I didn't mean anything malicious when I said, "I already told you..." It wasn't meant to show my impatience or anything, I was just trying to keep track of the things that I've already said, and also question if the person was talking about different things than I already said. I'm sure not everyone has read my introduction, but I'm not good at conveying, in text, my tone, and I'm awkward and blunt. Feel free to talk to me personally if you're questioning my intent with something I say. I am fine with taking responsibility for when I screw up, but I do struggle with finding the right way to say things, so sometimes it comes out different than what I mean. This goes double for when I'm confused and trying to keep multiple facts straight in my own head, since it takes a lot of brain power to organize, and also to think of all the ways someone else might take what I'm saying. I apologize if I offended anyone, I'm no good at this, but I'll keep trying.
