Hose Disconnecting

The last few days the Polaris Racer had been moving slow. Came home to find the hose to be disconnected from the pool wall. Screwed it back in and when pump turns on it comes out. It’s snug prior to turning pump on. Makes me think a clog is causing too much back pressure and it’s disconnecting. Check baskets and clear of debris. Checked gears in the float that pushes it back and they seem to work.

I am running out of ideas and tired of vacuuming so frequently. Thoughts?

For clarity, is the wall adapter ( the part that screws onto the return pipe) coming loose or is it the wall fitting (that part that has locking tabs on it) which mates to the wall adapter? Frequently, the tabs on the wall fitting break or bend which allows the hose to be pumped off.

Wall fitting.
Have you checked the tabs on the wall fitting or the slots in the wall adapter? It is most likely one of the tabs or slots are bent, missing, broke. The seal provides the snug fit but it is the tabs that keep it attached.
