Wait WHAT? You don't have your own test kit yet? I have a sad for your pool as time after time we have found major faults in Pool $tore testing. They get it wrong more than they get it right. It reasons are many from not cleaning the tubes between customers to the machine not being calibrated.

Here is a good example of what I found on my own when I found TFP to "check" what they were saying. I had to see for myself. Back story is my pool was clean and clear. I had just tested it and it was balanced to TFP standards. I took a large sample of water from my pool and poured it into 3 different plastic bottles. I took each sample to a different pool store. Two started with the same letter and one started with a different letter. They were all national chains. My water tested different at each pool store. The amounts to "fix" my water ranged in price from $57 to $124!

I also want to point out just about everything you need for you pool can be bought at Walmart, Target, Lowes, etc! Look in my signature below for what does what to each level.

You need to get those leaves up and out so they don't stain your pretty, new plaster. Don't use a vacuum with wheels though as the plaster is still curing.

I do have my own. I just like to use it as a reference to my own testing. And the kids wanted rings, torpedos, and toys lol. That we couldn't find at Walmart ☹️.

I'll steal a line from @Newdude . Would you cheat on the dumbest kid in the class? Comparing your results from a good test kit to a PS will make you go crazy. They are the dumbest kid in the class. Trust the results of your tests, and stay out of the PS unless they have a great deal on that watermelon ball @kimkats talks about.

BTW, love the see a great build like this come together. Looking good!

Yeah some times you got to go there to find different and new stuff for the kids to use. Did I tell you about the Watermelon Ball? If not look it and get one. It is the BEST game/toy out there!

Yeah I do the same for my aquarium reef tank. I'll have my local shop test my water and I compare to my at home test kits just to be on the safe side.

I'll have to check out the watermelon ball. Never heard of it

I'll steal a line from @Newdude . Would you cheat on the dumbest kid in the class? Comparing your results from a good test kit to a PS will make you go crazy. They are the dumbest kid in the class. Trust the results of your tests, and stay out of the PS unless they have a great deal on that watermelon ball @kimkats talks about.

Lol I like the quote. I do it to have peace of mind. I use good quality test kits and I always double test just to be safe.

To be honest it was very close to my at home testing.

I’m always tempted to bring my water in to compare their results to mine but sounds like a waste of time. With price increases on acid and chlorine at the chain stores, Walmart included, I found the local non chain pool store to be cheapest for chemicals. You pay a deposit for the bottles / carrying crate but after that you save a few $ every trip. Pro strength too. It’s not like Le$!!&’s, It’s an old guy who just sells you what you want and is glad to have the business.

I never ever buy from Leslie's lol way over priced for chemicals. I shop price alot and when I see a good deal I'll buy in bulk.
