Highest PPM Level of Chlorine for Pool Cleaner Use

I know my Dolphin manual states 4 ppm max. Does anyone actually follow this? Seems rather low?

Standard pool company numbers. Without CYA in the water it would be true. But by following the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], your active chlorine in the water is minuscule versus a public pool without CYA.

So if my cya is 40-50, what level would be safe to not damage the cleaner? My shock level is 16-20 ppm and would take awhile to come down to what the cleaner mfg. says is safe

At SLAM level the active chlorine is still far less than what the manufacturer states.

If you are going to maintain a CYA of 50, then your target level FC will 6-8 ppm.

I would not be concerned with the manufacturers statement on FC.

Yes. Lots of members here have robots. And use them during SLAM's.
