High Pressure Hayward S244 Filter.... New to this pool.

Hello,

Any help would be awesome. We curenlty opened our pool (First time for us just moved in) and the water is perfect and clear. Talking to the neighbor it seems my filter is running super high pressure. When running it is steady at 45Lbs. When its not running it stays at 25lbs. Not sure what the problem is, should there be a steady 25lbs of pressure when the pump is off? We back washed and its all clear but still high pressure.

Jon,

You just have a bad gauge.. It must return to zero when the pump is off..

Try one of these.. Pressure Gauge Glycerin filled 2.5" Bottom Mount

Welcome to the forum!
You need a new pressure gauge. The system has 0 pressure on it when the pump is off.
TFTestkits.net has quality gauges if you would like to check them out.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
